Eric Kirby, a 14-year-old boy becomes missing on an island after a paragliding trip with his friends. His parents, Paul and Amanda Kirby try to convince Dr. Alan Grant to help finding his son by offering him a lot of money for his research. Together they fly to the island Isla Sorna without aware of the fact that the island used to be the second InGen dinosaur lab.
